	MARIONETTES NEAR ABARAN

	By Michael E. Stone

	Fields of Autumn Yellow
	(so striking it feels capitalized),
	rock outcropping excrescences,
	avenues of pylons marching
	like marionettes across the hills.
	black clouds
on a screen of bright sky
	threaten

	2 yellow and black
	sunshade umbrellas,
	odd static wasps
	on one foot like cranes.
	Fall, fall, fall yellow fall.
